Skeins and Scones – Prayer Shawl Ministry
Meeting one Wednesday a month at 1:00 pm, the Skeins and Scones Ministry group knits shawls which are given to those in the hospital, to new members, to those who need care expressed and to local hospitals as a sign of God’s ever-present love with us. This group also meets in retreat once a year for spiritual growth. Our shawls have been sent to over a dozen states in the United States and two foreign countries.
The Zion Pastors are available for conversations about faith and life, for pastoral counseling for individuals, and for married couples, or those contemplating marriage. Our Pastors extend their time and care for anyone who wishes time to talk, pray, or simply visit.
Our pastors visit members in the hospital for pastoral care and prayer; at home during recuperation; or whenever necessary for spiritual well-being during time of challenge.
Our pastors and a small trained group of Eucharistic members periodically visit and offer communion to those who are bound to their homes or in nursing home facilities.
Stephen Ministers are congregation members trained by Stephen Leaders to offer high-quality, one-to-one Christian care to people going through tough times. A Stephen Minister usually provides care to one person at a time, meeting with that person once a week for about an hour.
